What's the Difference Between Bamboo Cotton and Pure Cotton?

Difference between Bamboo Cotton and Pure Cotton:

  1. Water Absorption

Compared to pure cotton, bamboo cotton has slightly lower water absorption. Pure cotton has better water absorption which makes it a popular choice for close-fitting clothing. Pure cotton clothing has excellent sweat absorption and is highly breathable. However, pure cotton is a very ordinary material and does not compare to bamboo cotton in terms of production process.

  1. Oil Resistance

When it comes to oil resistance, there is a big difference between bamboo cotton and pure cotton. Pure cotton is difficult to clean if it gets stained with oil because it has fewer fibers that tend to absorb oil. On the other hand, bamboo cotton has better oil resistance. If oil stains get on bamboo cotton clothing, soaking it in water for a period of time is enough to completely clean it. Therefore, bamboo cotton has better oil resistance.

  1. Antibacterial Properties

Bamboo cotton is extracted from bamboo, which is known for its ability to resist insects and bacteria. This makes bamboo cotton highly antibacterial and also provides protection against UV rays. In addition, bamboo also contains a special substance called bamboo kun, which is a natural antibacterial product that can prevent mites and odor. Tests have shown that bamboo kun can inhibit bacteria growth by 71%. Pure cotton does not have this feature, making bamboo cotton more superior in terms of antibacterial properties.

  1. Texture

Pure cotton and bamboo cotton also have a noticeable difference in texture. Pure cotton is soft to the touch and very comfortable to wear. In contrast, bamboo cotton is slightly harder but still gentle on the skin. However, bamboo cotton is very delicate and has better luster than pure cotton, so personal preferences should be considered when choosing between the two materials.
